We are continuing to teach different reading strategies to help students figure out words they don't know. While your child is reading to you, instead of just telling them an unfamiliar word, encourage your child to figure it out, using the reading strategies they are learning at school. (such as: looking at the pictures for a clue, stretching out the sounds, asking what word would make sense there, etc...)Thanks for reading with your child every day!
