We are continuing to learn about living and non-living things in science. Here is some footage of us being "scientists" and observing the parts of plants. After we observed, we drew our own diagram of a plant and labeled the different parts. We love science experiments!

We are starting a new genre of writing this week...Functional writing. This kind of writing gives directions and explains how to get things done. Have your child verbally give you directions on how to do something (such as tie their shoes or ride a bike etc...). They will be expected to describe in sequence with details, the steps that one must take to make or do a particual thing. We appreciate all of your support from home!

Spelling Words February 6 - February 13

This weeks spelling words are high frequency and long 'i' words. We are still focusing on sneaky 'e' and how it makes the vowel say it's name. This week the sneaky 'e' makes the 'i' say it's name. When you add the sneaky 'e' to the end of the word tim... the 'i' says it's name, and it makes the word time.

100's Day Was Fun!


We made neclaces with 100 fruit loops on them. (We counted out 10 groups of 10) We also ate 100 tiny snacks! (We counted out 10 each of the 10 different kind of snacks) We did a lot of counting and still had a fun time! Thanks to all of you parents that helped by sending in supplies! We really appreciate all of your support from home!
